Geology Walk & Talk – SOLD OUT

  • October 14, 2017
    3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

During class, you will be learning about the geologic history of the Duluth area as you walk through it. We will meet at the Tischer Creek trailhead on Superior St. and meander our way up and back down Tischer Creek, stopping periodically to learn about the landscape around us.

You will learn about the geologic history from the volcanoes that erupted over a billion years ago to the glaciers that sculpted much of the landscape we see today. You will also learn about how the geologic history led to the beautiful rivers that flow through the city. You will leave with a better understanding of the geologic history and information you can use to identify some of the common types of bedrock found here. You should be able to walk 1.5 miles over uneven terrain.

Children are welcome, but younger children will need an adult to keep an eye on them as there are steep cliffs near part of the trail we will be walking along.

Is there any chance that you could take 2 more adults on this walk? I see it says ‘sold out’ so sorry to ask but I just found this website from the paper.

Oh dear, it’s sold out already! I should have registered sooner. Maybe this class is a good one to offer again sometime. 🙂
